Looking for some advice of a joint seal to use in existing concrete runway that will have a new AC Overlay to help prevent the joint reflective cracks from starting so soon. I know they will work thru over time, just trying to fix a bad design. Thanks SB

I would look into a pavement fabric. Joint sealant is needed, but will do nothing to prevent reflective cracks.

I second Geopave. Use a pavement fabric to cover the joint. I have used this product before with success (paveprep):

It’s not cheap, and the contractor will wine and moan about installing it, but it will keep your joints from reflecting up into your AC overlay.

Can you put the joint is the same spot? and do a proper joint design?

As GPT said...use fabric. Then cut corresponding joints in the asphalt and seal with the same asphaltic sealant you would use for the concrete joints. Yes....joints in asphalt are uncommon, but at least you will control their location and initial width. Further, allowing the asphalt to move with the concrete will prevent much of the debonding associated with asphalt overlays on concrete.

Thanks guys. The COE is making the decision to seal and use fabric over the joints.
