does anyone know why in architectual desktop, when opening up the layer manager for the first time in an existing drawing, it has hundreds of layer 'property filters' displayed on left hand side. starting with $$ and ending up with ????? i know you can select all of them & delete them but if anyone knows why and how to stop this it would be much appreciated.

ACAD 2005 ADT LAYER FILTERS

I am not too sure about in ADT, but in AutoCAD Mechanical, the layer filters are loaded with the default drawing. Witin the options, you can turn off Layer Management. This may apply to ADT but I am not sure. Check your options. Good luck.
