ACAD 2005 - ZOMBIES

I am trying to use REFEDIT and get this message up

** AcDbZombieEntity objects cannot be edited in place

Any ideas why it wont allow me to do the editing?

do You have an application, third party-program? I think it's a proxywarning, and You have to convert these objects into acad-objects with this application.

I GUESS WE DO USE A THIRD PARTY PROGRAMME TO PRODUCE THESE DRAWINGS BUT THE PROGRAMME IS NOT ACTUALLY ACTIVE WHEN THE REFEDIT COMMAND IS ISSUED SO THE DRAWING IS AN AUTOCAD DRAWING ALREADY (THE COMMAND IS USED ON AN XREF RATHER THAN A BLOCK).

Yes,

but I think, Acad can't read the objects without error, because they are not really Acad-objects. Ask the Editor for converting these objects

Try eploding the objects. If it lets you, they should turn back to lines and circles (etc) again.

kind of off the point. This is an xref - bog standard drawing which acad has no problems with when used directly. It is when that same drawing is xrefed into another and then in that other, the refedit command is used. All the objects in the initial drawing are functioning as normal and recognizable to acad, just we get this strange zombie message on the use of refedit.

Explains a little. You need to edit them with the same app that created them (eg AutoCAD Mechanical, etc..) Else go back to original dwg and explode the object.
