Has anybody been able to get values from attributes to fill out multiple blocks with the same data, such as drawing numbers on a multiple sheet drawing.

Taking your question a line at a time, yes, you can pull info from attributed blocks. Yes you can use that info to place it elsewhere. And yes you can place the info on different layout sheets. Can you tell us where exactly where and what info you are "pulling", and then where and what info do you want to "push" and its destination(s)? Thanks.

I have a 6 sheet drawing with the first sheet consisting of the title block. The subsequent 5 sheets contain a slim version of the first using only the drawing number and revision. All title blocks on all sheets are attributed. I would think I should be able to get the value for the drawing number off of sheet one and automatically fill in the values on the rest of the sheets.

Same goes for the tab names. If my tabs are named 1,2,3, etc. I should be able to grab the tab name value and use in my tile block as sheet number.

Does this make sense?

Hello all,

After quite a bit of research I was able to solve this problem myself. For the benefit of others, I will describe the solution. Using ACAD 2005 I took advantage of the new “Fields” command and inserted a diesel function as a field into the attribute. With this I was able to call the drawing number, revision, date, drawn by, checked by, approved by, number of tabs and the current tab name (I name my tabs 1,2,3) I really like this feature of AutoCAD 2005. Basically AutoCAD filled out my title block and all subsequent sheets the second I named the file.
