We have switched over to 2006 (yesterday) but for some reason everything goes slow - like when we draw a polyline it takes 6 seconds to react, or just escaping from a selection takes similar time.

Any ideas why (graphics cards are updated and everything was fine in 2005 - now uninstalled).
Thanks.

seansweeney,
are you running WIN XP with IE?
Then try:
Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> uncheck security option "Check for server certificate revocation"

Or your antivirus software makes the trouble

ADT 2004
ACAD 2002

I had a previous problem with AutoCAD 2004 because my video card in Windows XP was using a 'standard VGA adapter' as the video driver. I updated the driver to my video card.
I think this enabled hardware acceleration of the video (The video card processor processes the graphics instead of the computer processor.)
AutoCAD was again behaving as it should.
I also have to agree with Sweeney, you have to check your anti-virus software. Norton is known to have conflicts with AutoDesk on certain versions.

You may also be slow if Acad is looking on the web or server drives for stuff.

on AutoCAD 2006 we had to stop AutoCAD from trying to connect for updates. The icon is a small satellite which is locatd on te bottom right hand corner. Some firewall settings prevent AutoCAD from contacting Autodesk.

Seems to be the antivirus thing. Thanks.
