Yesterday I think I hit the RAM ceiling in my 32-bit system while modeling a fairly large part-count assembly. I got an error message announcing a function of the video was being disabled and my ACAD was reverting to "defailt settings" of some sort.
What was smooth shading in X-Ray mode devolved to a "dithered" effect under "default settings" and the dithered appearance is nearly unusable since interior edtail is obscurred- the only reason FOR X-Ray mode, a mode absolutely necessary in assembly modeling.
When I rebooted, the problem persisted.
Is there a setting in ACAD where I can re-enable its use of the other operating mode ?
I'm using an NVidea GT-240 1Gb card ( modest by ANY standard!!!). Is the problem there instead or is it possibly a VISTA video display issue ?
Ok- Stumped for now-
