Acceleration at Impact

Dear All.

I am simulating impact tests using Timber projectile and Aluminum Target. I want to find the acceleration of projectile on impact at 2 different locations as shown in the Figure. In the output Abaqus is giving its value as zero. Can you please advise how to get the value of acceleration at these points? I have tried acceleration in Field output. It's

I think you need to call acceleration in history output for selected set.

How did you enforce the motion of the projectile - using initial velocity or gravity ?

In most cases it’s better to evaluate global acceleration of the structure in drop analyses since you may get some locally large accelerations due to high frequency (and low amplitude) vibrations of the structure. You could use the ACOM output variable which provides equivalent rigid-body translational acceleration of a given element set.
