Accept or reject changes function? revision control etc...

Hi,
Is there any function in NX5 to create a detailed list of changes made when a user saves a file?

I'm looking for some type of revision control on a package of drawings I made.

Once the drawings are submitted for approval(PAPER COPIES!!!), they become "frozen".

I would like to ensure that in the event that I need to reprint the drawings, I can be assured that the doc hasn't changed.
How is this type of rev. control accomplished in NX5??

I need something solid.
"read only" can be easily undone...
Checking the "last saved" date doesn't mean it was changed...

Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Have you looked at...

Information -> Part -> Modification...

When the dialog comes up (if there is more than one part open, select the one of interest) go to the 'Criteria' and set it to 'After' and making sure that the 'Display Part History' is toggled ON, hit OK and you'll get a report, as shown below. Now note that this won't tell you about every possible change, but it will indicate what sort of changes were made to the features and expressions of your model (but ONLY the last change made for any one feature/expression).

At the top of the report it shows the last modifications on any Expressions or Features and then below that is a record of all of the save operations performed on this part. So in the first part you can see at which 'save operation' some feature/expression was created which has since been modified at some other 'save operation', which you can then find the 'who' and the 'when' from the listing below.

Anyway, it's at least some info but it's easy to get to.

Just to perhaps help you interpret the information and/or do it manually I added some comments.

I just go into part history and check the dates. I don't turn on the report for every time a file opens I just run it manually as and when needed. It is more or less the same as John suggested

Go into Information>Part>Part History then you'll see the following. Kind of listing below:

The top couple of lines of the listing will be the loaded version on the top line and when you opened the file for editing today on the second. Pay attention to the next line down because that is the last time the file was saved.

So if you simply want to find out when the file was last saved then this will give you a short answer. Be aware that not every save represents a change which is where the other part of John's listing may help.

Cases that can be confusing could occur if you do a refile to take data from one version of NX to the next. Then you'll have to look into the actual change detail.
