Section 24.2.1.1 of NFPA 13 2010 states "Unless permitted by 24.2.1.2 through 24.2.1.8, all piping and attached appurtenances subjected to system working pressure shall be hydrostatically test at 200psi and shall maintain that pressure without loss for 2 hours".
NFPA 15 reference NFPA 13 for aboveground testing. So wondering what people's thought are on the requirement for testing of pneumatic detector lines. Would seem the use of the term '...subject to system working pressure' might be able to exclude them from the hydro, as it would seem the term 'working system pressure' would relate to the water supply pressure which these would never be subject to.
On the flip side it seems one could argue that the detector is subject to 'a' working pressure and therefore would be required to be tested with the hydro to ensure pipework integerity.
Has anyone found anything specific in this regards.
