:-> I'm looking for heat of combustion of soy flour to evaluate heat release in accidental combustion. Someone can help me? Tanks

The quickest way to reach a value is to use a bomb calorimeter and measure the released heat on combustion as measured by the calorimeter's temperature increase multiplied by its heat capacity divided by the mass of the sample taken.

The limiting factor is O2 -- max heat needs optimal mixture.
Calculate optimum percentage for startch.

There are ovens made to burn corn -- you may find some data
in their parents (see < )

The easiest way is to read the label on a bag of soy flour purchased in a store. [at least in US stores]
Important note, though:
1 food calorie = 1000 thermochemical calories = 4184 Joules
Food calories are sometimes called 'large' calories.

I have a bag of ordinary wheat flour that contains 400 food calories per 4 oz. portion. Thus, 1600 Kcal/lb = 6.694 MJ/lb = 14.7 MJ/Kg = 14.7 KJ/g

Hi GAFA:
You have everything. Carbohidrate = n( C+H2+0); needs 2O-s
Determine weights, using air ( N2 adds only weight).

Find spec. heat of products, etc. <nbucska@pcperipherals.com>
