ACI Cl.No: 10.15 — Transmission of column loads through floor system.

Is this clause also applicable to concrete shearwalls?
and in case it is applicable what is the corrective action to be taken if i cast the slab without considering the same

Well it says Column..... but read the commentary, if you are in the design phase there's ways to address it, either higher strength concrete in the area of the column, added dowels, etc. As to retrofit? Hmmm.

I would think with a shear wall you'd have greater area and it's less likely to control and if you use the strength based on the floor concrete it would calc out? Even if it doesn't apply.
