Does anyone know if ACI318-02 Chp 21 requires amplification with omega (NOT rho)...

In other words, for my SMRF, do I use(omega * QE +- 0.2 SdsD) for:

1. columns of the SMRF
2. beams of the SMRF

Thanks...I can't find anything explicit in ACI318-02!

No, it is not required to use Omega factor for designing beams and columns of an SMRF. If you have a column supporting a discontinuous shear wall or braced frame, then those columns have to be designed for overstrength factors.
