ActiveX Server returned the error: unknown name: IsLayout

I am not an AutoCAD expert. I was trying to 'burst' some blocks and keep getting this error on some files sent to me by an architect.

ActiveX Server returned the error: unknown name: IsLayout

Any idea what this is and how to fix it?

Your term "burst" are you referring to exploding blocks?

"burst" is a method of exploding blocks and such that retains text properties of any text info in the blocks. It is a tool from the Express Tools menus.
