The actual burden at the secondary of the voltage transformer (VT) is 5VA, However the supplied VT has 15VA. Would this cause any problem?

No

I'm assuming this is a unit produced to IEC standard. If so, that standard specifies that the rated accuracy is to be maintained from 25%-100% of the rated burden.

Dear Mr NickParker

Q. " The actual burden at the secondary of the voltage transformer (VT) is 5VA, However the supplied VT has 15VA. Would this cause any problem? "
A. The VT are usually rated 10, 15, 25VA... As for your case, the burden (5VA) is [lower than] the VT (15VA). It [should not] cause any problem.
We can study it in detail if you can tell us what is your concern/application? What is the load and the VT Class?
BTW: IEC 61869-x series replace IEC 60044-x series.

Your vendor is answering a question about a CT, not about your VT. 5VA burden on your VT should be no problem.

My bad. Actually my question is regarding CT; due to my absent mindedness, I posted as VT.

Sorry Gentlemen!

My answer above holds true for CTs as well.

Your vendor has given you an excellent reply. Do you have any more doubts/problems?
