Hi,

AD2000 HP2/1 Table 1 defines the max. bending randius for the welding procedure test coupons as follows, but i could not find the definition of the "a"

Bend angle ° Material Bending mandrel diameter8)
180 Material groups 1 to 7, 9, 11 with a
minimum tensile strength < 430 MPa a
minimum tensile strength ≥ 430 to < 460 MPa 2.a
minimum tensile strength ≥ 460 MPa 3.a

any help will be highly appreciated,

You refer to bend test according to EN 910. In that standard "a" is the thickness of the test specimen
 
Excuse me, I see now that EN 910 was replaced by EN ISO 5173: 2011. In any case, I understand that the definition of "a" remains the same

it is a very strict requirement. ASME or EN 13445 codes accept 4 x thk. I wonder why AD2000 requires 2 x thk.
