Hello to All,

I have tried my best to find out the solution to this problem, but I hope it was not already available.

The objective I'm working on right now is to realize an ADAMS/Car co-simulation with MATLAB for a front suspension analysis. Once executed, I'll further create an optimization study to find the best hardpoints of the suspension (on selected ones, e.g., inner tie rod.x, lower control arm.y, ...) to improve some steering targets (e.g., Ackerman error, ride steer, ...)

Following the tutorials, I understand that it is required to export the plant using ADAMS/Controls; hence, to do that, I need to select the input and output signals.

To my understanding, I should select the hardpoints as input and the analysis results as output signals, and I must define them as "state variables". However, I do not find either the hardpoints or the analysis (which is based on a plot configuration file) in the ADAMS/Controls interface or using the Tools menu --> Command Navigator --> data_element --> create --> variable.

Consequently, how can I define the below items as state variables in ADAMS/Car? (Or is my approach reasonable?)

-the hardpoints of a subsystem in an assembly
-analysis of the simulation

I apologize if this is a simple question, but I struggled a lot :)

Thanks a lot for any help,

/Car is well integrated with /Insight which can easily be used for DoEs on hp locations and bush scaling factors.

Cheers
