hey guys,
I make a project where I have to find out the unsprung weight of a ford fiesta and plausibility with using axis kinematics simulations. I have already the full vehicle assembly with all the weight form each part.
My problem is that i´m not quiet sure whats plots i have to make after the simulation that helps me for my projekt.
Maybe someone knows if there is a function for unsprung mass ?
Thanks

I'm not very familiar with Car. However, I have noticed in the past that its reporting of parameters like this are missing.

If you know your tire radial rate and you run a half car simulation with a fixed body, driving at the contact patch, then a sinusoidal sweep will give you a good estimate of the wheelhop frequency and hence unsprung mass. This actually a good approach in general.

The other approach is to sum the weights of all the parts assigning some proportion of each according to whether they are sprung or unsprung. That is not very accurate.

I dare say 30-40 kg for the front is about right.

Cheers
