I have been trying to define solid to solid contact between the rear-wheel tire of a motorcycle and the steel roller. Two bumps have been attached to the roller which rotates at about 380 rpm. The main objective of this simulation is to simulate the situation where the motorcycle is moving through the bumps and get the vertical upward force experienced by the rear wheel due to the bump.
The hard part is there are four input parameters ( stiffness, exponent, damping, and penetration depth). I have found a useful resource related to defining contacts. There are about how to guess these parameters and solver setting which is quite helpful. But I guess they are for steel to steel contacts but not for the tire to steel ( tire is made of another whole different material). That's why I have trouble guessing these parameters.
It would be very helpful to me if someone has a better idea about guessing these parmeters. Also If there are any other better ideas to model these types of contacts ( not necessarily to be solid contacts).
I have used Adams view 2019. The tire model that I have used is pac_mc_120_70R17_cross.
If I used the parameters which are shown in the picture above, the force at the rear wheel due to bump will reach about approx.50 kN which isn't true. It may be below 10 kN as per my guess.
