Adams View Angle Twist with Fixed-Free Shaft 1

Hello,

I am new to this software, I trying on the way to model a fixed-free shaft with torque at free end. Then need to generate the Angle of Twist at the center or other parts of the shaft.

Im very appreciated if anyone would like to guide me on this new software.

You are using the wrong tool for the job. ADAMS will do it, but it is not the best approach.

Build your shaft as a series of flexible BEAM elements and PARTs. Join them with rigid JOINTs. Fix one end to the ground, apply your torque to the other and measure the rotations.

That approach is reliable and easy to automate. It is also long winded.

Second option, build a series of rigid mass, join them with torsional springs and revolute joints. That may well work, it should, I've never done it.

I'm using Adams 2012 Student Edition, may I know how can I create flexible BEAM elements and PARTs?

and I did not see Rigid JOINTs option in my Adams/View.

Thanks, I'm too new to this software and I tried to read through the Guideline relased by MSC company, but still unclear on the use of each component.
