I have a format where I want to add a new parameter (pro/e 2001).
When I start a new drawing pro/e prompts me to fill in parameters.
When I come to the new parameter I have to add first, integer or real number or string ....

In the format I add the parameter in a table by enter text.

What is the differents between the new an older parameters??

The old parameters in the format may be in the .prt/.asm file and are transferred automatically to the drawing file.
I would add the new parameter to the part file and it should populate the field in the drawing.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

Van,

Ben's correct. If the parameters in the *.prt/*.asm files are not assigned it will prompt you when you place those parts & assemblies into a *.drw file that has the same parameters. All the parameters should be defined in start parts and start assembly files. If you don't want to be prompted just assign the parameter with a <space>.
