I've create a macro in VB that createws a userform with shortcuts to all other macro's we are using in our company. This way I can add new macro's and update them without annoying the rest. I was wondering if I could create an add-in (for SW2004) that will create a standard SW-toolbar on wich I would be able to add/remove and update buttons. It would be very helpful if I have created a new macro I would be able to add it to the toolbar and then when everybody starts up his SW the next morning it would be on their toolbar as well. Is this any means possible ???

Kind regards, Bouke

CAUTION:
If you are going to make such a program, only use it for .dll's and compiled .exe's. Starting macros using the SldWorks::RunMacro call can cause the macros to behave erratically and produce unexpected results.

If you can't get through to BitWright, contact me via the email address in my profile. I have that template somewhere.

Also, I can send you the script for a similar program I made to add my compiled .exe's to the SW menu.

Hi TheTick,

The program sounds interesting. Can you send me the script?

Cheers

Sure, I can send you the script. I need an email address, though.

You can contact me via the email address in my profile. I don't post email addresses on forum, as it leads to much spam and gnashing of teeth.

Is it also possible to create an additional toolbar in SW?? A toolbar with the buttons on it I want on it?

It is possible and done all the time by persons who are not me. So far I've just stuck with adding menu items.

HaHa, yeah me too. I have been experimenting with the SW-API for about half an hour a day for 2 weeks now so I can't tell u i've gotten much further...

Bouke,
Don’t give up. I have seen some amazing things done with Visual Basic 6 and SolidWorks that have saved companies $1000’s.

Tick: Talk to JH and he should be able to send you code for the custom toolbars etc. or at least point you in the right direction. I seem to remember there he said there were some tricks to it. He's a bit busy right now, so be patient with him.....

I was - and he did. So at least I didn't get coal.....
