Hello, I wanted to add around 10 kg to the end of the rods of a through rod hydraulic cylinder and was wondering what is the normal way to go about this (if there is one). Thanks.

The most usual way to do this would be to start with a sketch included in your question.

Sorry, we are not really sure how to go about it so no sketch atm. But we know we want to attach it to a through rod c96 cylinder

Most hydraulic cylinder rods have male or female threads for exactly that purpose - attaching something to them.
Something tells me though that you want to "attach" something in a more "secure" way - like welding.
Do not EVER weld on a hydraulic shaft and expect it to continue to function properly.
Your question also tells me you want the shaft to support the weight of that extra load. You're breaking another good practice if you do that.
Hydraulic shafts are intended to handle linear axial loads only. Lateral forces should be carried by other external methods, like linear guide rails and bearings.
