Hello all,

I am currently working with machine simulation. There is a turning toool that i want to use with the simulation which is not available in the NX library.
In order to configure automatic tool change i need NX Manufacturing to pick the directly from the list.
But for this I am not able to import the tool CAD in NX inthe first place. Is there some specific method to add the .prt file of the tool to the
NX library.? Is the configuration similar to NX machine simulation where the machine Data has to be added to the machine_database.dat file

You need a library entry for the tool, and this will reference the part file assembly representing the tool.

There is a step be step procedure in the documentation - search "Create a solid turning tool assembly" or browse to
CAM > Manufacturing General > CAM libraries > Cutter, tool holder, and device libraries > Create a solid turning tool assembly.

Thanks markrief for your reply, The tutorial were indeed helpful .

I also need some help in the configuration of the Machine simulator. The machine that needs to be simulated is Liechtie 5 axis mill turn machine.

I am trying to use the default OOTB example to configure this machine but it does not work.
It either says the axis is not registered and for turning the axis dont move at all.
I do not have the machine cofigurator application to reconfigure the CSE and MCF files.
Is there a way around? is it a free application (machine configurator )
