Does anyone know how to add additional bodies (either PartBodies or OpenBodies) to an existing drawing view in V5?

To add other bodies to a drawing u can use "Front View" command again to select your preferred body.
This can be done from the part/product u made your drawing originally from or from another part/product.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I may not have been clear. Let me ask a different way:

I already have a front view created and dimensioned. Now I realize I need to have a line or point shown from an Open Body from the same CatPart file the view was created from. How can I keep my existing work (front view with dimensions) and add an Open Body to that view so that my line or point will be visible on the drawing? I know I can do it by recreating the front view from scratch, but sometimes that makes me lose many hours of dimensioning work. Any ideas?

Thanks again for your response.

Ok, u havent stated which release u are currently using but i´m using R8 SP4 and there u can choose in the properties for the current view that u want to show 3D Spec, 3D Wireframe and 3D Points.

So if u have your point made and want to show just that one, use hide/show to make all your other open body features hidden except the point u want to show.
Then, if u havent done it, in properties for the view u want to see the point, mark the 3D options.
Update the views and it will show up.

Your dimensions should be ok(if they are not red already :))

hi,

You should find in your drawing options something about generating 3dpoint and curve. If you can see (not hiden nor under any filter) your point then you only need to update your view to get it in drawing. Also check the parameters of the view to allow 3dpoint projection.

Have fun
