I was shown years ago that you could add any symbol from the MS Word symbol directory into a UG drawing format. I only needed it once and now can't remember the process. I need to add the symbol "µ" to a drawing as text. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

You can add the micro symbol with the control characters "$1" (without the quotes) in your note. I think this only works if you are using blockfont. If you are using a different font, find out what font number blockfont is assigned to and use the note <Fx>$1<F>, where 'x' is the number for blockfont. These control characters will change your font, insert the symbol, and reset the font to what you were using. The font number ranges from 1 - 14, so just loop through those in the annotation editor until the symbol appears.

For a list of other control characters, look up "text control characters" in the drafting help files.

I don't know of a way to insert symbols from MS word, if it is possible I would be interested to learn how, though.

You can insert µ symbol from MSword. Follow these steps

1)Copy µ symbol from MSWord
or
Start->All Programs->Accessories->System tools->Character map
select µ symbol from Arial font, click Copy button

2)Goto ug Annotation editor and paste it, now change the font type to anyone of "ideas_din", "ideas_helvetica" or "ideas_century".
