I have a large assembly with 2 different versions. I have all the components shown in the generic and two instances. I would like to simplify my family table by grouping. Group 1 is shown in instance 1 and group 2 is shown in instance 2.

I can add components to the family table, but when I click on the groups option I get the 'no group found' error. Does anyone know how I add a group to a family table?

WF5 does it automatically.
I had a family table of an asembly, over 100 componnets. I grouped them by length in WF2 and we couldn't open the instances. Opened the file in WF5 and at the end of the family table were the groups, all set to N. Chnaged them to Y and I could open an instance. In WF2, I ungrouped everything and the instances can now be opened.
Be careful what you ask for!

I have successfully added groups using the FEATURE selection preset in WF2.

Thanks for the tip dgallup. Since I was working in an assembly and wanting to show and hide various components I was trying to use the group selection. I guess since Pro considers a group a feature in the model tree that is how they want you to select it. It seems odd that there is a group selection I wonder what that does? If not allow you to select groups.

Thanks

I think it is a bug but PTC probably call it a feature.
