Is there a way available for estimation of quantity required of acid/alkaly solution for neutralisation of an aquos solution having a pH of alkaly or acid side. More specificaly a method based on pH alone and not on lab analysis?

thanks

Yes*, you can calculate the amount of neutralizing acid or alkali based upon pH. For example, see
'Alkaline pH neutralization'
thread161-61126

*This will be a minimum value; the more dissolved and suspended solids in the system, the more likely it is you will need additional neutralizing agent. This is because the solids have a buffering effect on pH which must be overcome.
