Addition of Nozzle in existing vessel of ASME Sec VIII Div 1

Refer thread794-323783 here my question is in case of addition of new nozzle in existing vessel, do we require to make a mockup piece for qualifying welder? If performing agency is already qualified R stamp vendor. If requirement is so then does it specify in National Board of inspection code or API 510? Please support reply with attachment.

If the company doing the work has an 'R' stamp, they should have qualified WPSs and Welders. "Mock Up" not required. Review WPS and Welder Qualification prior to alteration/repair.

Thanks David339933 for your reply. I understand for welder qualification similar mockup piece is not required. Welder can be qualified with 1G or 2G position Pipe to Pipe. Pipe to vessel qualification may not require if already working with similar cases.

I will be grateful if you can explicit mention code reference.
