additional unwanted initial angle in steering system in adams model

hi

i have changed the steering column joint from hooke to convel and i'm getting an additional 0.5 degree initial steering angle in every test...

can anyone help me with this?

what is causing ths?

Probably your UJ phasing. Look at your plot of steering ratio vs SWA. You'll need to run it with lots of steps. you'll probably see the error there. How many UJS have you got in the column?

i haven't used UJs i have used convel joints...

how can i change the joint phasing??? i have used 2 convel joints in the steering column...

Yes but when you had Hookes there may have been a problem with the phasing, which the CVs have eliminated. Your tie rod inners aren't symmetrical so you'll get a bit of a difference from that.

i have used symmetrical coordinates for the tie rods and i still get 0.39 deg initial steering wheel angle...

couldn't it be from the driver? or the unsymmetry of the whole vehicle?

in a step steer test i see an almost constant 0.37 deg steering wheel angle ... that's what i call initial steering wheel angle...

Are your wheel loads and rideheights symmetrical left to right?
