Hi all,
I am not sure this is the right place to post my question or not.
We are going to revamp plant to new technology with slight increase in capacity.
Some equipment such as columns, tanks, heat exchangers...will be reused and few will be repurposed.
Is there any systemic approach to conduct these adequacy checks and verification from reusing and repurposing.
I know API 579 and ASME PCC. But looking for templates having systemic approach to help not to miss any key checks and measures.

What sort of "plant"? Automotive assembly plant? Sewage treatment plant? Oil refinery? Power generating station?

The only way I know to do it is to go back and re-evaluate the suitability of every piece that you want to re-use.

There can be no "template". The things that have to be done to establish whether a pressure vessel is suitable for re-use, aren't the same things that have to be done to establish whether a robot is suitable for re-use, aren't the same things that have to be done to establish whether the floor of the building is suitable for re-use.

thanks Brain,
actually it is Chloro Alkali plant.

You do not describe the excisting documentation of your plant.

I think a good, normal, identificaction, detailed descriptin (satisfying all records for replacemet), technical and process partaking details, safety factorss and consequences of failure, necessary tests done, and planned inspection periodes for each component or component section should do the trick
