I am trying to adhere EPDM to nylon fabric and due to the application it must be food grade (21 cfr) and meet NSF requirements. Due to this I cannot use RFL or isocyanates. This product would be EPDM cured (drum wrap in hot air oven) to both sides of fabric. So far I have tried various ways of getting mechanical adhesion (rubber dips, rubber spreads, etc) and nothing has worked. I need at least 10 lbs/inch adhesion and I am getting 3 or less with everything I have tried. I am thinking that possibly a phenolic resin may help but not sure which one to use. Any suggestions?

What 3DDave said. I you are going to do this yourself, you would calendar the fabric between two layers of the EPDM (i.e. pass the sandwich of uncured epdm and fabric through a roller) then cure. You also need to choose a fabric with enough porosity to allow the rubber to flow through the weave.
