It seems trivial but I've honestly never run across this definition in my career. I'm working with a gasket like material with a moveable component underneath it. Do materials have a calculated adhesive force to common materials? I've seen tabulation for the common variables, youngs modulus, tensile strength ect... but I've never entered the realm of adhesives and how they are estimated for bond strength (assuming force per square inch of bond area???). I understand it depends on the material but I'm not entirely sure what adhesive engineers have created or tabulated. If anyone has reference to adhesive tests I'd like more information on that as well. I assume it's a simple force gauge with various pulling velocities and possibly temperature modifications plotting maximum force over time. I also understand it depends on a shear or tensile force so I'd be curious to see results. Thanks for the help guys
