I'm trying to develop the equaions for the flow of steam through an orifice. Initially the ullage pressure is equal to the vapor pressure of the heated water.

The water vapor expands adiabatically but the hot water then vaporizes to as the pressure decreases, lowering the temperature of the water and the vapor then mixes. As the water is expelled, there is less of an energy reservoir to vaporize additional water.

I think I'm conceptualizing the physics correctly, but I'm trying to figure out how to set up the moving control volumes and the flows between the two.

Any help is appreciated,
Jeff

You should look long time to ind a HX diagram or a steam table for water?

your conceptualized physics is fraught with assumptions...

problem is covered in the published literature so literature search is essential, it is not a trivial process to model.
