After uninstalling an unused version of NX, prt files no longer open from Explorer window with my existing NX version even though it is associated using "Open with" context menu and choosing ugraf. Currently when double clicking on a prt file, a dialog asks if I want to allowing the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes on this computer. After clicking Yes a new NX session opens but does not display the prt file. Prt previews in Windows explorer still display properly.

There is probably a bad registry entry following the uninstall but I'm not sure of which entry.
Any ideas?

Maybe you can try the repair option from the install disk.

I found a solution. I had to add some arguments to the program string so now it is:
"C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 11.0\UGII\ugs_router.exe" -ug -use_file_dir -version=V29.0 "%1"

Why it was generating a dialog about an unknown publisher is beyond me.

I use Default Programs Editor as well; a slick program for sure.

The uninstall wiped the associativity in the registry.
The repair option should work to add the file associations back to the registry.
There may also be a bat or an exe file in the loadpoint to generate the associativity in the registry.
