How does the ageing affect the core loss and cu loss of distribution transformer ?

1. because of short circuit and other high loading causes carbon particles to be formed and deteriorates the core properties ? (is it right ?)

2. Because of harmonics ,
What else

Somewhere I read or heard (forgot ) , at later part of transformer life, losses increases ?
Can anybody give me clear thought of why ? does it happens ?

1. Not that I know of.
2. Only if harmonics cause overheating.

As your oil deteriorates, it can increase losses, as the power factor of the oil increases, so more resistive losses in the oil, so more losses overall.
