Has anyone been successful in finding a replacement LCD display for the Agilent 8753E Network Analyzer?

Maybe buy an old broken one, and swap. Check ebay but use caution, lots of theives on line and ebay is weak to detect and prosecute. I was offered one for $10K that didn't exist, since the guy selling it used photo's provided by a friend of mine who sold his a year earlier.

PS:It sucks that Agilent/HP isn't supporting their analyzers anymore, we have two at our place, and I hope we don't break them.

Yeah, a lot of crooks showed up on ebay over the last 2 years. You really have to be careful. If someone has less than 200 feedbacks, watch out. If most of the feedbacks are for things like auto parts, etc., don't try to buy test equipment from him. If most of the feedbacks are for buys, not sells, don't fall for it. Buying outside of the country is a BIG risk. Dont't buy outside of ebay (seller sends you an email like "I noticed you were biding on item x, well I just so happen to have another one just for you...". Watch out for crooks trying to email you, in general, and NEVER click on a link in any email you get regarding ebay, even IF it looks like it came from ebay (virus). If you get what looks like an email from ebay, you can also go onto the ebay site, log in, and see the same email there. Make sure your have a strong password (capitals, symbols, etc). Never use your ebay or paypal password on any site other than an official ebay site arrived by loging into ebay first. Good luck.

I bought an HP3400a off one crook who actually damaged it before packing it up.

I didn't complain because the damage was superficial ( control knob).

Then about 6 weeks later the post office sent me a letter about my damaged parcel... what damaged parcel says I. Oh the one from Dorset says they.

Don't know what he was up to, but it was some scam or other.
