The ATI Fire GL AGP4x card in my Dell workstation just crapped out. The computer specs say the motherboard has an AGP 4x (1.5 volt only) bus. I would like to buy an Nvidia Quadro FX500 card to replace it but I'm concerned that I might have a problem since the spec for the Nvidia card shows it to be AGP 8x (it doesn't say 4x compatible), which I understand to be AGP 3.0 standard with 0.8 volts (the AGP 2.0 bus is1.5 volts).
Does anyone know if this card will work for me (in a AGP 4x motherboard)?

James,

Usually the newer cards are univeral voltage. Do a google search on AGP or look on Tom's Hardware website. I know the XGL 380 is universal because I just upgraded my wife's desk top with that card. I would also check on Nvidia's website they will have the specs on all the cards. Best of luck
