gentlemen I have one question regarding the air blower surge, a wash air blower and acceleration blower

1- how to determine the blower surging limit ?
2- what is the definition and causes of air blower surging ?
3- how to avoid such condition ?

thank you for the support , waiting your feedback

Do a search on surge. Would be better in the gas compression forum. This is a very basic question.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

Find the manufacturer's process datasheet for this blower which should show the performance curve - on this / these curves, the surge line would also be shown.

If this blower is surging, it is probably due to either one of the following :

a) There is no min flow FIC / FCV on blower discharge to keep the blower flow at above surge flow when process demand is less than surge flow - remedy : install min flow FIC - FCV. Decreasing blower speed may not be an option here if there isnt much room to do so.

or

b) There is a min flow FIC - FCV on the blower discharge , but it is not acting fast enough, especially when process demand flow decreases steeply. Remedies may include one or some of the following options (i) tune the FIC to enable faster response (ii) change the FCV trim to quick opening (iii) add a volume booster to the FCV to improve opening speed (iv) slow down the rate of decrease in process air demand

You may be using the incorrect type of blower for your application. Have you considered using a positive displacement blower?
