Hello,
I'm sizing an air compressor/receiver/delivery piping for a research facility (concept design level) and looking for some general guidance.
The air compressor is going to be used primarily for controlling several air actuated valves (DN50) and servicing up to nine (9) "testing" locations. A typical testing location might consist of a skid mounted RO membrane system (compressed air used for air scouring).
1. The exact air demand is unknown. Any tips on calculating power, pressure and air volume requirements?
2. Any tips on sizing a receiver?
3. Any suggestions for sizing the air delivery lines? Also, what is the best type of pipe material to use?
I realize I'm missing a lot of specific design criteria at the moment, but wondering if there are any "rules of thumb" when sizing air compressor systems to get in the "ball park".
Thank you in advance.
