I have a 4" circular window that looks down at wood chips and measures some properties. Over time, there is dust build (dry) that blocks the window.

Could an air knive work for this sort of app? It would have to be a PLC controlled ON/OFF Air flow.

If anyone has experience or knows any company, please comment.

Any other creative suggestions?

Cheers,
SK

Yes, it could work. What is the window made of? If it's plastic, you may want an ion knife to help control static.

Exair is one manufacturer.

Sensor windows in dirty environments are kept clean by using a continuous purge flow though a tube in front of the window. This prevents dirt from ever touching or depositing on the window. It is much harder to remove after deposit. I have seen some windows with spray washers and wipers.
