Air spring failure-vertical cracks

Hi,
Our heavy truck cab suspension air springs are failing with vertical cracks, as shown at attached photo.
Horizontal cracks are result of fatigue. However supplier hasn’t found root cause and solution yet. Fatigue test is running again but failure can not be replicated at lab test.
We repeated ozone test with small air rubber specimen, similar issue can ne be replicated neither.
There is no rubbing.
I will be appreciated if you can share your comments.

Looks like dry rot to me. They either aren't seeing enough use, or if they are, the rubber formulation needs alterations.

May wish to take a look at proximity to any exhaust components as well.

It seems that the rubber was cooked and cracked. Mr168 might be right, a heat source was around.

Choice of materials. What is the material? And how does it compare to other air bag manufactures? Country of origin etc.
