aircraft nut-plate installation and inspection 1

I am to develop an eddy current probe to inspect fastener holes around nut-plates in aircraft structures. While I know a lot about eddy currents, I have little knowledge of nut-plates. Could someone please guide me to some installation manuals?
Has anyone done inspection of fasteners around nut-plates?

Generally speaking, nut plate are installed using a pair of 3/32 solid rivits. Replacement nutplates are frequently installed using CCR pop rivits. There are other types (ForceTec) installed in a cold worked hole. The rivits are only holding the nutplate against the torque of the fastener installation, and are not holding the load of the fastener installed in the nut plate.

AC43-13.1B would be a good start as it discusses the most common legacy fastening systems. But there is a lot of new stuff out there.

The folks asking for the probe should be more specific about the nutplates they want to inspect.
