thread593-192953 AIRPORT OR IN HANGAR 400HZ POWER

HI FOLKS - JUST RETURNED TO THIS FORUM AS I AM NOW RETD. A+P - SO MAYBE GHOST BUSTER HAS SOLVED HIS AIRPORT 400 HZ SUPPLY PROBLEM ANYHOW OTHERS MAY HAVE ENCOUNTERD A SIMILAR PROBLEM .
BASICALLY IT IS NOT CORRECT TO QUOTE A VOLTAGE OR FREQUENCY TOLERANCE FOR ALL WIDE BODY AIRLINERS - THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT - AND THE AIRBUS RANGE ARE TIGHTER THAN THE BOEING AIRPLANES .
WHEN WE WERE INSTALLING HOBART 400HZ F.C.U.s WE NEVER ENCOUNTERD THIS PROBLEM DUE TO THEIR TIGHT SPEC. - BUT WE SAW MANY OTHER MANUFACTURERS RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM.
ON THE A.380 FOR INSTANCE IT NEEDS A MAX. OF 2 X 180 KVA = 360 KVA . FOR THIS REASON IT ALSO NEEDS 4 X AN3430 TYPE FLEX CABLE ASSYs.
THE HI TRANSIENT LOADS WILL THROW MANY F.C.U.s OFF LINE AS THEY DO NOT MAINTAIN THE TIGHT VOLTAGE + FREQUENCY CONTROL REQD. BY AIRBUS. THIS IS ESP. TRUE OF ROTARY TYPE 400HZ G.P.U. / F.C.U.
THE MODERN AIRLINER IS MONITORING ALL OF THE INPUT POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT - AND IT WILL REJECT IT IN m/s IF IT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE AIRFRAMER SPEC.
THE 400HZ CABLES WHETHER FIXED IN CABLE TUNNELS / DUCTS OR THE FLEX TYPE ARE CRITICAL TO THE AIRCRAFT - YOU CANNOT USE 50/60HZ CALCS. TO WORK OUT WHAT CABLES ARE NEEDED .
TALK TO GOOD FOLKS LIKE HOBART - TROY - OHIO ABOUT THIS - TRUST THIS ASSISTS J.C.

Thanks for all the good information, but please use lower case as it is much easier to read.
