AISC 360-05 ASD changes 1

Are there any major changes to the ASD method under the new AISC-360 specification? Is the 360-05 spec being used anywhere yet?

Yes, there are A LOT of changes so I heard. I don't have a copy as of yet, but from what I've heard, the entire ASD approach is now basically LRFD except for the last step when you can convert the answer to allowable stress or LRFD.

Check it our and see just how much is different for ASD. You'll find it's quite a bit. I don't know that it is referenced in a building code yet but it may be soon.
