Dear Friend,
I am working in API 6A valve industry.
I have got AISI 4130 certificate.
As per ASTM A29, vanadium is not there in AISI 4130 chemical compostion.
My material supplier has added 0.002 % vanadium in AISI 4130. his argumentis that AS per API 6A/5.4.5.2 Composition limit. -PSL 2 to PSL 4.
We can add 0.3 Max vanadium. And API 6A says that 0.30 vanadium is allowable for carbon and low alloy steel.
So confusion is that can supplier add vanadiumn in AISI 4130? but it is not allowbale in A29 /AISI4130.
And API 6A says for all low alloy steel? or says that if any perticular alloy is in any low alloy steel then supplier shdould follow limit for perticular alloy in low alloy steel?
