Hi

ASME II part D has a material G41400 with 80YS/100TS. This material is listed with de-rating factors at temperatures.

Can I use the same de-rating percentage but for G41400 which was hardened to 110YS/135TS

I would not. The effect of temperature on tensile strength properties is not the same as a tempering parameter to predict response to hardness. The values in Part D consist of actual hot tensile testing results.

Thanks for reply

Do you know any other standard except ASME Part D where that material (AISI 4140 110ksi ) might be listed?

MMPDS fig. 2.3.1.1.1 lists some data for temperature effects on tensile properties of AISI low-alloy steels.
