I have the same problem that a user a few years ago had in thread810-79827.

I'm running a MES simulation on a weldment to examine buckling from eccentric loads, etc... Using the BCSLIB-EXT sparse solver (which I was told during MES training is very fast for MES) and a rather course mesh, the solver finishes in about 37min. However, there is no data in the Results tap. I'm not even given the option to display stress or displacments in the "Results" menu. Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone have any further guidelines concerning which solvers are most effective for a given type of model?

Thanks,

DRS

Just for fun, see if there is an *.esx file by trying to load an Algor results file (File: Open: Change "File of Type" to "Algor Results"). If there isn't, then the analysis isn't really generating any output. Check for errors in the log file (If it is generating a report, you can take a look at the log file through the report tab). Several other issues that I've had in the past...I haven't had a problem with the last few versions.

If everything seems OK after that, track me through my website and send me archive if you can. I'll run it and see what happens...

Garland,

I looked and there was no "Algor Results" file. Neither was there a "log" file listed under the Report tab as is normally the case. Let me know if you have any ideas based on the problems you observed in prior versions of Algor.

But before I bother you with the model, I'm trying to "dumb it up" with more plate elements, etc... and trying a linear static run again. If I don't get anywhere, I'll bug ya. Thank you for the offer.

Check the box on the Output tab that says input information in output file...click loads and boundary conditions...that should at least give you an output file, but there should be an error of some kind with the input data.

In my case in the past, I was trying to use brick elements and it was eliminating the internal mesh. Because of that, I remove the default to build the brick mesh at the time of analysis and force it to go ahead and build it, if I'm automeshing.
