Great post Scott,
Max Freeman is asking for help in the Alibri/Geomagic forum for 3D examples done in Alibre to showcase the program's capabilities.
In a way this reminds me of Harley Davidsons struggles under AMF , Alibre is now unrestrained and free to grow.

What about those of us who dropped maintenance due to the lack of product support by 3DS? Are we going to be allowed to reinstate with the new Alibre, or will we have to buy a new license?

You will be able to reinstate with the new Alibre. No need to buy another license since you have one already

Well its now official, Alibre Design 2017 was released in an email to all existing customers today, they are using the site posted by Scott in the first post. they will answer questions on licensing at hello@alibre.com
I downloaded and tried the updated program today it runs well with no glitches discovered yet . Congratulations to Max Freeman and Johnathon Pace for resurrecting this program , and putting some life back into it , after it stagnated with 3D systems.

Cool. I have an old version of Alibre Expert - off of support for many years now. The work I bought it for didn't really pan out, and I haven't used it much at all over the years.
