Aligned Sections on drawings

I have noticed that when the aligned section cut line is created at the drawing level, there are no contraint tools to edit the section line. Therefore, we have been creating all our part drawing section lines as sketches on our part models. That way we can contrain the section line sketches and edit them as needed.

How do I accomplish this on the assembly model. I would like to create an aligned section line sketch on the assembly model to use as the section cut plane. An example would be that I would like the section cut plane to go vertical to the center of the part and then cut at a given angle (Say 33.45°) through the rest of the assy. I don't seem to have that much control creating it at the drawing level.

How are others handling there section cuts?

We are using v5R14

Thanks,

What about creating your part drawing section lines as sketched lines in the drawing instead of the part?

As mentioned above, the section line can not be edited precisely (With constraints) when created on the drawing.

What I meant was sketching the lines first using the Line or Profile icon, constrain them using Geometrical Constraints or Driving Dimensions then "tracing" over them when creating the section line.
Use the right mouse button for additional options when sketching the section line.

If I trace the sketched lines, the section looks good until it needs to be changed. When I change an angle on the sketched lines for my "Aligned section view", the section line does not update (move) with the sketch.

Am I doing something wrong?
