I'm running SW2004 SP2.1, and trying to get a certain section view of an assembly.

My problem is that when I start the section view command, the orientation of the cutting plane is not quite right. If I rotate the plane around, it moves away from the center of my part. My part is oriented to and centered on the assembly origin, but the rotation axis of the cutting plane isn't.

Is there a way to position the cutting plane axis relative to the origin or some other arbitrary feature?

Thanks,

Create a new plane and use that as your cutting plane. I don't know of a way to control the axis to which it rotates about. All planes are going to use the center of where the plane was cretaed or offset too. you cannot change this location.
